A different kind of seaside town. Glorious sand and miles of beach. All the usual seaside attractions but a strange vertical pier. It once had 2 horizontal piers but they were both destroyed by errant ships and demolished. Shame. You can also visit the oldest life boat in it’s own museum, The Zetland. Well worth the time and it’s free!
Redcar boasts it’s famous Lemon Top ice creams which are not to be missed. It has its share of gulls but they aren’t aggresive but please don’t feed them.
